I qualified as a Counsellor in 1998 and began working in Kent Prisons setting up services for remand and sentenced offenders, effected by substance misuse. This was under the "Tackling drugs in Britain strategy".
I provided assessment, counselling, group work, and facilitated the first two months of a six month rehabilitation programme in a high security prison. After three years I moved in to community based services, recruiting and training student counsellors and providing counselling at GP surgeries in Medway and Swale.
In 2003 I moved in to my first management position where I managed an addiction counselling and outreach service in Rochester, and in 2007 set up Jigsaw therapies. I obtained my Reiki level two certificate in 2009, and completed my Clinical Hypnotherapy training in 2010. In 2014 I achieved a CMI qualification Level 5 in 'Leadership and Management for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People Services'. In 2021 I was awarded the accredited certificate for commissioning and purchasing for public care by the Institute of Public care - Oxford Brookes University.
Some of the additional projects and development roles I have held since 2007 include the following;
Working independently allows me to hold clinics where I can be flexible and use a range of treatments to meet individual need. I also provide consultancy services.
